The Chromsystems reagent kit is designed for the reliable, routine HPLC determination of metanephrine, normetanephrine, and 3-methoxytyramine in urine. Bound metanephrines are released by an acidic hydrolysis step. Dilution with the Neutralisation Buffer automatically adjusts the pH required for the subsequent solid phase extraction. Additionally the correct pH-adjustment is verified by a colour change indicator. The chromatographic determination is run on an isocratic HPLC system with an electrochemical detector. An optimised HPLC column and mobile phase ensure the reliable separation of possible interferences. The typical application area of this kit is tumor diagnosis (phaeochromocytoma).
